Weatherford City Commission approves several Hot/Mot items

During a Weatherford City Commission meeting Thursday, the commission approved several items recommended by the Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Committee. The commission approved an $8,000 grant to the Heartland of America Museum for the All-American Salute to Veterans Weekend. The museum’s original request of $14,800 was modified by the Hotel/Motel Tax Advisory Committee during its June 21 meeting.

Community comes together to support local family. The view was surreal and energetic - straight from a Hallmark film. The communal support flooded the fields and filled the stands with players awaiting their game and an audience rallying for Riot Barker, a little boy who’s touched so many hearts without even knowing the impact he’s made. A softball tournament fundraiser took place at the Cordell Softball Complex Saturday, June 25, to help raise funds for Riot’s heart surgery. Temperatures soared to the extreme that day, along with the outpouring of support from the community, friends and family.
