ATHENS, P.A. (WENY) - The Athens School Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to deny Sayre's request to co-op for football. The Athens Board read a written opinion from Athletic Director, J.B Sullivan, along with members of the community expressing their opinions and concerns including Athens student-athletes having to sacrifice two years of an opportunity to compete in District Playoffs, as well as playing time.

Southern Tier Network joining efforts to build 35-mile open-access internet for Nichols

NICHOLS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Nichols have been named as one of four communities in New York to take part in the state's ConnectALL program. The program is designed to bring affordable and high-speed internet to unserved or underserved rural communities across New York. Southern Tier Network, based in Corning, will be heading the project.
