City of Burbank Continues to Be Disappointed in Tin Horn Flats’ Unlawful Actions

BURBANK, CA (April 1, 2021) – While Tin Horn Flats continues to flagrantly ignore and violate Court orders to shut down restaurant operations, the City of Burbank has taken extraordinary measures to obtain compliance. This includes turning off the electricity and revoking the Conditional Use Permit after the County Public Health Department revoked their health permit.

Burbank Red Tags Tin Horn Flats Building for Life Safety Violations

BURBANK, CA (March 31, 2021) – Today the City of Burbank red tagged the building located at 2623 West Magnolia Boulevard, known as Tin Horn Flats, after issuing a yellow tag yesterday. This means that the building has been identified as unsafe and as such, the building may not be used or occupied. The prior yellow tag notification was the precursor to, and a notice that, the building would be red tagged on March 31.

Burbank Rental Assistance Program – Application Period

Burbank, CA (March 23, 2021) – The City of Burbank is committed to assisting renters impacted by COVID-19. A commitment of $375,475 in Community Development Block Grant will be used to provide emergency rent assistance and utility payments to low-income renters. The assistance is available on a first-come, first served basis until funds run out, at which point, the program will end.

March 12, 2021, UPDATE - Court Authorizes Electricity Disconnection for Tin Horn Flats

This morning due to Barfly Inc., Tin Horn Flats, continuing to remain open in defiance of the Temporary Restraining Order issued on March 8, 2021, the Los Angeles Superior Court authorized the City of Burbank to disconnect the electricity to Tin Horn Flats’ property after giving 24-hours’ notice. The court did not provide permission to padlock the doors at this time but continues to reserve such a remedy as a last resort.
