The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners regular meeting agenda was dominated by zoning and property issues on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Approved: Donald and Vivian Cone submitted an application to rezone 5.10 acres from R-80 (80,000 square feet) to AG5 (Agricultural 5 Acres) to allow the future subdivision of the property under Section 503 (15) [Family Provision] of the Zoning Ordinance. ThompsonGas hosts annual safety training with Bulloch County Fire Department

ThompsonGas, previously known as TruFlame, hosted four first responders from the Bulloch County Fire Department at their annual Safety Day training on June 29, 2022. ThompsonGas employees and local fire fighters in attendance talked through how to respond to a gas leak or bulk plant emergency. They also received hands-on fire extinguisher training and an overview on how to handle propane safely.

Bulloch Co. recreation department to look at options after last-minute fireworks cancellation

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Organizers of Statesboro’s annual July 4th Firecracker Festival lost their fireworks show at the last minute. Staff members at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Recreation Department say they’re as disappointed as anyone that they had to cancel the Independence Day weekend fireworks Sunday morning after an accident in another town the night before.

Statesboro man dies after ATV accident

STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - An accident involving an ATV has left one man dead in Statesboro. This incident happened on West Waters Road and Five Chop Road around 8 p.m. Saturday. According to Bulloch County Deputy Coroner Richard Pylant, 63-year-old Tony Woodcock fell out of the ATV, sustaining fatal injures.
