Prosecutors questioned Sydney Weaver, 19, for more than an hour, who gave two prior depositions, or a full account of what she knew, but claimed Wednesday not to remember several details that could incriminate him in the Feb. 25, 2019, murders of Molley Lanham, 19 and Thomas Grill, 18 in rural Hebron.

Man arrested after 16-year-old girl sexually assaulted on Beach Park bike path

BEACH PARK, Ill. — A man was arrested Wednesday following a violent sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl earlier in the month on a north suburban bike path. Tramane Johnson, 27, of Beach Park, was taken into custody after Lake County Sheriff deputies executed an arrest warrant. He’s accused of forcefully grabbing a 16-year-old girl by the neck, shoving her to the ground and then sexually assaulting her.

Bloomingdale's T.J. Maxx/HomeGoods will relocate to Stratford Crossing

T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods in Bloomingdale are set to relocate to the village's former Kmart in September. The department and home furniture store currently located at 344 W. Army Trail Road in Bloomingdale Court will be moving to 156 S. Gary Ave. at Stratford Crossing. The site of the former Kmart, which has been closed since 2016, is roughly 49,000 square feet, according to Sean Gascoigne, Bloomingdale's director of community and economic development.

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (WIFR) - Mercyhealth hospital expanded their services when they broke ground Wednesday in Crystal Lake for their newest emergency medical center. Not only will this give Crystal Lake a 24/7 emergency department complete with a helicopter landing pad, it will also create nearly 350 new jobs for residents in the community. Mercyhealth President and CEO Javon Bea says the project is 25 years in the making and the end of a long journey for area leaders.

Police in Waukegan Looking Into Weekend Murder

Tim Vander Tuuk, WLIP News (6-15-21) (Waukegan, IL) Police in Waukegan are investigating, after a weekend homicide. Officials were called early Sunday morning to the 1600 block of 11th Street on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found a vehicle that had hit a building, and the driver of that vehicle, now identified as 34-year-old Tyron Patrick of Waukegan, dead of gunshot wounds. No motive has been established in Patrick’s killing and no arrests have been announced. Anyone with more information is being encouraged to contact Waukegan Police.
