LUNA COUNTY, N.M. – A Buckhorn, NM man was killed early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on the Hatch Hwy. (State Road 26). Jean Hedwig Gregory, 65, was driving a 2006 Toyota minivan in the east-bound lane of State Road 26 in the early morning hours of June 30, 2022.

HATCH - New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead Thursday morning. An NMSP spokesperson said that Jean Hedwig Gregory, 65, of Buckhorn, was killed when her vehicle collided with another on New Mexico Highway 26 southwest of Hatch around 5:56 a.m. on June 30.

The Gila Regional Medical Center Governing Board, composed of the five members of the Grant County Commission, made another step toward a partnership with New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants during their meeting Thursday, voting to give board Chair Alicia Edwards authority to sign a contract with Dr. Barbara L. McAneny, the oncologist who would provide services at the hospital’s cancer center.

Cliff resident, mother and cattle owner Tasha Donaldson came home to a somber sight one day last month, finding her pregnant cow, Lucky, unwell. In the hours that followed, Donaldson saved the life of not one, but — to her surprise — two calves that Lucky was carrying.

GILA NATIONAL FOREST - The Black Fire gained nearly another 12,000 acres within 24 hours, setting up the wildfire to surpass 200,000 acres over Memorial Day weekend. As of the morning of May 27, the Black Fire is burning 191,459 acres of Gila National Forest land with only 13% of the perimeter contained....

The Black Fire continues to burn. The fire, located about 30 miles northwest of Truth or Consequences, has burned nearly 155,000 acres and is only 11 percent contained, according to the most recent information released by authorities. HUDSON – I was lucky to have a get-away vacation in Tucson, Az., and Gila, New Mexico with daughter, Julie and spouse, Camille.
