Motorcycle rider taken to hospital after DeKalb county crash

DeKalb County, Ind. (WANE) — A Friday morning motorcycle crash put the rider in the hospital and left another person with minor injuries. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said Justin England, 37, from Auburn, was traveling west in the 1700 block of County Road 56 “at a high rate of speed.”

Napoleon woman, child hurt in US 6 crash

WESTON — A Napoleon woman sustained serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash west of the village on Wednesday. According to the crash report filed by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, around 2:30 p.m., Alayna Sebald, Belleville, Michigan, was traveling southbound on Ohio 235 and stopped at the posted stop sign at U.S. 6. She then pulled into the intersection and struck the westbound vehicle driven by Maria Sanchez, Napoleon.

Fayette SWCD hosts fifth Discovery Camp

Despite the hot weather, the Fayette Soil & Water Conservation District hosted its fifth Discovery Camp for two days at the Fish and Game location with 53 campers attending. Aaron Teter and Noel Lesniak, from the Carnegie Public Library, assisted with registration and staff time to help insure the camp’s success along with Hannah Carter from NRCS. The sessions were led by Lauren Grooms, RPHF Solid Waste District, ODNR’s Wildlife Officer John Coffman, Volunteer Naturalist Shena Weade, Master Gardener Sara Creamer, and Natural Resource Specialist of Fayette SWCD Brigitte Hisey and Technicians Malcolm Miller and David Payne.
