Child, 4, injured in accidental shooting; Police arrest man they say left gun unattended

After a four-year-old boy was injured playing with a gun he found, Baton Rouge Police arrested the child's uncle, who they say left the weapon unattended. According to BRPD spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely, the incident occurred at a family member's home around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, when the 4-year-old and another child found the gun and began playing with it. One of the children then accidentally fired the weapon, injuring the 4-year-old boy.

IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — A Denham Springs man was arrested by state wildlife agents on hundreds of counts of violations. The man was identified by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as 59-year-old David A. Cavaretta. Restaurant worker on the run after gunfight in parking lot of Ascension business

PRAIRIEVILLE - An employee at a restaurant along Airline Highway is on the run from law enforcement after he got into a shootout with another man outside the business. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies are now searching for James Sims of Baton Rouge. The sheriff's office said Sims got into an argument outside the restaurant around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday with an acquaintance of his, 29-year-old Justin Boudreaux of Raceland.
