AKWESASNE, N.Y. (WWTI) — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe announced that its Emergency Operations Center has been formally deactivated. According to the Tribe, the decision comes more than two years after a State of Emergency was declared for the Akwesasne community on March 16, 2020. Under TCR 2020-17, the EOC was activated and remained operational until the Tribe determined that the COVID-19 Pandemic no longer posed a significant threat to the health and safety of Akwesasne. The Tribal Council explained how they reached their decision in a press release.

NORWOOD, N.Y. (WWTI) — The Norwood Village Green Concert Series will return on Thursday after a one-week hiatus due to the Fourth of July festivities. The series will return on July 7 at 7 p.m. with the All-Star Big Band with special guest Ronnie Leigh. The band will be under the direction of Wally Siebel and singer Leigh will showcase his multiple-octave range and engaging stage presence at the concert.
NORWOOD, New York (WWNY) - Norwood police are investigating the theft of tens of thousands of dollars of lumber in a case that has stretched far beyond the village. Earlier in the day, police shared surveillance images of a red pickup truck, its license plate (New York KJW-4333), a yellow trailer, and two people they would like to talk to.
