Woman reported missing in Murfreesboro found safe

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman last seen in Murfreesboro on June 19 has been found and is safe, Murfreesboro Police said Monday evening. Police said 32-year-old Alyssa Douglas went missing on June 19 and was last seen at the Waffle House on Armory Drive. She was wearing a purple hoodie and rain boots the last time she was seen.

Burn bans in effect throughout Middle Tennessee

Nashville, Tenn. (WZTV) — As of Monday morning ten burn bans are in effect in the Middle Tennessee area. In Tullahoma, Deputy Fire Marshal Nick Kimbro has shared that burn permits will not be issued inside of Tullahoma City Limits until the area receives "a significant amount of rain." Kimbro said that the biggest concern during this time period is the use of fireworks. Fireworks will be allowed from July 1 through July 3 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on July 4 fireworks will be allowed from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Kimbro urges that residents use caution with fireworks.

North Georgia pastor leads food pantry ministry

A North Georgia pastor is leading a ministry that's feeding so many people in need. New Beginnings Baptist Church member Alexis Sloan spends most days in the food pantry helping so many people in Lafayette. She says it’s a ministry her Pastor Junior Williams has led for over 20 years. “He’s out in the community all the time and he’s helping people. He grows a garden. He basically started the food bank for our community,” said Sloan.

Repeated cell phone store offender sought, displayed handgun during robberies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Violent Crimes detectives are trying to identify a man who robbed several cell phone stores at gunpoint over the last month. The suspect is described as a white male between 30 to 40 years old, according to Metro Police. Police report that he has a tattoo on his right calf, earrings in each ear and is approximately between 5’8 and 6’0.
