Chelsea Dungee hired as Troy assistant women's basketball coach

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Monday, Troy University announced it has hired Arkansas great Chelsea Dungee as an assistant women's basketball coach. She was named All-SEC second team her sophomore and junior season, then first team in her senior year. Goshen dominates New Brockton in spring football game

The Goshen Eagles closed out spring football practices with a resounding 59-26 win over the New Brockton Gamecocks on May 20. Goshen opened up the game forcing a New Brockton fumble and then the Eagles scored on a 39-yard run from Sczmerick Andrews to go up 6-0 early. The PAT was no good. After forcing another Gamecock fumble, Goshen scored again on a 37-yard run from Andrews. After the PAT, Goshen led 13-0 with 9:18 left in the opening period.

Charles Henderson Trojans celebrate basketball season

The Charles Henderson Trojans boys’ basketball team celebrated its 2021-2022 basketball season with an awards banquet on Monday night. The Trojans returned to the Class 5A Elite 8 this season for the first time since the 2003-2004 season and finished the year with an undefeated area record, 24-6 overall record and the Area 4 Championship. Additionally, three Trojan seniors have signed college scholarships, as well. Longtime Charles Henderson supporter Dan Smith served as the banquet’s MC for the night.

Troy closes regular season with Sun Belt series win

The Troy Trojans baseball team picked up a Sun Belt Conference series win over the Appalachian State Mountaineers on the road this weekend to finish off the regular season. After starting off the series with a win on Thursday, Troy followed up with a dominant 9-2 win over the Mountaineers on Friday. Kyle Mack went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs, while William Sullivan also went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs.
