BRUCE CROSSING, Mich. (WLUC) - One person is in the hospital after an overnight building fire in Ontonagon County. According to the Bruce Crossing Fire Department, firefighters were still on the scene around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, waiting for tanker trucks to deliver water. The fire has since been put out, but the department expects the building to smolder for another day.

MARENISCO — In Marenisco Township on Dec. 24, Nicholas Millard of Spring Mills, Pennsylvania, entered a cabin occupied by Thomas Fletcher, 49 of Marenisco and his son Austin Fletcher, 22 of Irvine Calif. and shot both men. MARENISCO, MI (WSAU-WAOW TV ) — A Pennsylvania man is in custody and charged with murder in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Nicholas Millard of Spring Mills, PA is in custody and charged with the murder of 49-year-old Thomas Fletcher on Christmas Eve at a cabin in Marenisco Township.

MARENISCO TOWNSHIP, MI— A shooting in Gogebic County on Christmas Eve claimed the life of one person. Sheriff’s officials responded to a cabin in Marenisco Township around 1:15 a.m. on a report of a shooting involving two victims. Deputies and Michigan State Police troopers entered the cabin and arrested the suspect without incident.

At approximately 1:15 AM on December 24 officers responded to a report of a shooting at a Marenisco township cabin involving two victims. Responding officers were able to enter the cabin and apprehended the subject without incident. One victim is being treated at Aspirus Ironwood hospital for a gunshot wound, the other victim was declared deceased at the scene. The Michigan State Police Crime Lab will assist with the investigation.

ONTONAGON, MICH. -- For the second year in a row, Michigan’s Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park has seen an uptick in search-and-rescue calls.
