Manitou Group plans for expansion in Madison and Yankton

Fifty years after Gehl Corporation first opened its manufacturing facility in Madison, Manitou Group is planning to open its new expansion in 2023. Manitou Group Madison Plant Manager Jeff Minnaert talked about why the company decided to expand in Madison and Yankton during the Lake Area Improvement Corporation’s Annual Meeting last week.

Madison Summer Tennis Holding Play Day

Towards the end of this week, the Madison Summer Tennis Program will be having an end of the season play day. The program has over 100 young participants playing within the Madison Summer Tennis program. The end of the season play day will be held on Thursday, June 30th starting at 5:30pm. They will be playing some group games and it will also allow the players to show off their skills.

Flandreau Flier Claire Sheppard announced that she would be committing to the Jackrabbits. The six-foot-one guard/forward still has two years left in high school, but has quickly grabbed the attention of programs in the region. A violent thunderstorm ripped through the area late Monday night and early Tuesday morning leaving mass destruction in its wake. As heavy rains poured, and lightning lit up the night sky, high winds ripped limbs off trees, leaving many residents with a mess. Power went out several times throughout the night. However, the real damage struck outside of town with massive amounts of hail that pounded a 4½-mile swath between Manchester and Lake Preston.

Indoor Country Club ready for golfers

Everyone loves golfing, and it is even better when it can be done year-round. In Lake Preston, with the opening of the Lake Preston Indoor Country Club, people will now have that opportunity. The indoor club will have two golf simulators, allowing up to four people at each simulator, whether they are hitting the driving range or playing games.
