Police search for man who abandoned emaciated pit bull at Prince William Co. shelter

Police in Prince William County, Virginia, say they are searching for a man who left an emaciated pit bull on the doorstep of an animal shelter early Thursday morning. According to officials, animal control officers in the county have launched a felony cruelty investigation after a dog was left in poor condition at the Prince William County Animal Services Center at 14807 Bristow Rd. in Manassas a little after midnight.

DUI Arrest

A suspected intoxicated driver was unable to convince a deputy she was the passenger during an accident investigation Thursday night, and was placed in jail. On June 30th at 9:10 p.m. Deputy T.A. Vasquez was traveling southbound in the 1800 block of U.S. 1 when he encountered an unreported crash. A gray Nissan Rogue was facing southbound in the northbound lanes with significant driver’s side damage. The other vehicle, a white Ford F-450, had pulled to the shoulder of the highway.

All four car tires stolen in North Stafford

Deputies are looking for information regarding the theft of four tires from a vehicle parked at a North Stafford hotel Thursday morning. On June 30th at 7:40 a.m. Deputy S.M. Craig responded to the Courtyard Stafford Quantico at 375 Corporate Drive for a larceny. The victim reported the tires and rims were stolen overnight from his 2021 Dodge Challenger. Additionally, personal items were stolen from inside the vehicle.

Animal Services officials say the investigation into the possible case of animal cruelty started after a man was spotted in surveillance tapes leaving a dog at the Prince William County Animal Services Center located at 14807 Bristow Road in Manassas.

Witnesses reported a black car with a wing on the back had been speeding and weaving through traffic before striking the rear of the Mazda.
