Woman involved in downtown shooting-related incident gets probation

SIOUX CITY -- A woman involved in an assault that preceded a downtown Sioux City shooting was sentenced Monday to probation. District Judge Tod Deck suspended a five-year prison sentence and placed Miracle Walls on probation for two years. Walls, 24, of Sioux City, pleaded guilty in Woodbury County District Court in March to third-degree burglary, which had been reduced from second-degree burglary as part of a plea agreement.

SIOUX CENTER—A 21-year-old Sioux City man was arrested about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, May 22, in Sioux Center on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, possession of an open container of alcohol, turning at an intersection violation, forgery, no valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of vehicle liability insurance.

Northwest Iowa — While the first half of Tuesday will likely remain fairly dry, wet conditions return Tuesday afternoon sticking around into Thursday. Sioux City advances plan for new park in mid-town area

SIOUX CITY – The Sioux City Council approved a plan for improvements at the newly renamed Jepson Park, formerly known as Thompson Park. According to city documents, the project includes the construction of playground structures and safety play surfacing, an open shelter, signage and other miscellaneous improvements at 803 14th St. and 1400 Ingleside Ave.
