One dead, another in critical condition after police chase for stolen car ends in crash

One person is dead and another is in critical condition after Gainesville police say a pair of young men attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle and crashed. The incident began around midnight Tuesday when a Gainesville police officer was on foot patrolling the Sweetwater Square apartment complex, located at 3501 NE 15th St. when the cop spotted a stolen 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – State Attorney Brian Kramer has announced that the Alachua County Spring Term Grand Jury has issued indictments against 11 defendants on charges of first degree murder, racketeering, robbery with a firearm, burglary with assault or battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm by a delinquent, and more. The indictment alleges that the defendants engaged in a “pattern of racketeering activity.”

Two Women Arrested on Drug Charges Wednesday Night

Two women were arrested and booked into jail on drug charges Wednesday night in Cherokee County. Those include 25 year old Serina Gagnon, of Sugar Hill, who was charged with Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia and with Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree; she was booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center at 6:35pm.

According to a GPD release, detectives utilizing plain clothes and vehicles were tracking John Wesley Mosely, 28, on Tuesday evening after previous research from prior reports.
