Cortland man accused of driving drunk, causing two hit and run accidents

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A 23-year-old Cortland man is facing charges after allegedly causing some property damage during two different hit and runs. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Saturday night around 9:05 for reports of an accident that resulted in damage to property at South West Street and State Route 90 in Homer.

Homer Woman Accused of Stealing Food and a Plant in Home Burglary

A Cortland man and a Homer woman are facing several counts in connection with a bizarre break-in reported in the Town of Homer. Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they were called about a burglary inn progress at a home at around 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17 where the homeowner found 30-year-old Emily Barnard inside the house and say the Homer woman had stolen food and a plant. The owner also found 49-year-old Larry Swisher walking around the property.

$8.9M Street Improvement Plan For City Of Binghamton Announced For 2021

On Monday, City of Binghamton Mayor Rich David announced details of the city's plans to improve streets in the area for 2021 while visiting construction crews on Morgan Road. The plan includes milling and paving work to over 40 streets estimated at 1.7 million dollars, full street reconstructions estimated at 2.1 million dollars, water and sewer upgrades estimated at 4.5 million dollars, and curb and sidewalk upgrades that will meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines which was estimated at 608 thousand dollars. The 4.5 million allocated for water and sewer maintenance will improve the underground utilities on many roads included in the 2021 plan before repaving the roads.
