June 27, 1889 — Our townsman, Mr. S.L. Rhodes, has perfected a very ingenious but simple device for the purpose of securing nuts on bolts to prevent from shifting or loosening. It is adapted for securing nuts on bolts on iron bridges, rail cars, engines, threshing machines, cylinders, buggy spindles, reaping and mowing machines, and in fact wherever threaded bolts are used, no matter what size, from the smallest to the largest bolt used for any and all purposes.

Elkton town council member gives insight to why town manager was fired Monday

ELKTON, Va. (WHSV) - On Monday, the Elkton Town Council voted 4-2 to fire town manager Greg Lunsford. After his firing, the town shut down the town hall and the community center for the remainder of the week. Town Council member Phillip “Rick” Workman, who was one of the two no votes on Monday spoke to WHSV about Monday’s decision.

Embezzlement cases skyrocket stolen property monetary sum

Two recent high-dollar embezzlement cases initiated the highest estimated monetary value of stolen property figures in the Town of Culpeper in recent years. The embezzlement investigations involve two different local businesses, of which Town Police did not identify. The cases are not related, but one business had $600,000 stolen and the other had around $110,000 stolen. Each was stolen by their respective employees. Although both offenders have been identified by detectives, both investigations remain active and on-going.
