Brush fire east of Livermore grows to 552 acres; 50 percent contained

LIVERMORE -- The TeslaInc Fire burning in the eastern foothills of Livermore between Alameda and San Joaquin counties grew to 552 acres as of early Friday morning and was 50 percent contained.The brush fire began late Thursday afternoon in the area of Tesla and Corral Hollow roads in eastern Livermore.Cal Fire said firefighters were strengthening containment lines and working towards full containment.There were no damages to structures or injuries reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

2 arrested in separate catalytic converter thefts in San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO -- Police officers in San Leandro this week disrupted two separate catalytic converter thefts on the same overnight shift. The first incident happened at around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Pershing Drive and Stoakes Avenue. San Leandro police said officers arrived to a call of a catalytic convertor theft in progress and found a suspect actively removing the device from a vehicle. However, the suspect ran away from police and was not found.

Backyard Fire In Suisun City Disrupts Home

SUISUN CITY (CBS13) — Friday afternoon a fire broke out in the backyard of a house on Potrero Circle in Suisun City, said the Suisun City Fire Department. Around 5:31 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to the backyard to a large column of smoke. When crews arrived, they found a shed on fire in the backyard with another structure beginning to catch fire and several others being threatened by the flames. Crews were able to contain the fire to the yard and only one structure was burned. The fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries.

SUISUN CITY (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating a series of fires in Suisun City that appear to have started within a short time from each other.
