Abbreviated timeline expected for redistricting process in Aberdeen

The boundaries of the four city voting districts last set 10 years ago will likely be reviewed under an abbreviated schedule. Aberdeen City Attorney Ron Wager said the later release of census data and the timeline the state has set for legislative redistricting both factor in to how quickly the city boundaries can be determined. The districts outline the boundaries for the City Council residency requirements. Adjusting them every decade keeps those districts balanced when it comes to the number people represented in each.
