Police need helping finding the hit-and-run driver who killed a 77-year-old man walking in a Thousand Oaks crosswalk.Yang Xuezeng of Thousand Oaks died of the injuries he sustained in the hit-and-run crash a few days after the June 7 crash, according to Ventura County sheriff's officials. A deputy found him in the crosswalk on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, just west of Clay Court.Xuezeng was with a group of people and was starting to cross the street when he was struck by a white sedan, according to authorities. SUBJECT: Prohibited Persons / Documented Criminal Street Gang Members Arrested for Firearms Possession

SUSPECTS: Marco Juarez, 31-year-old Oxnard resident. On June 30, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at J St. and Bard Rd. Officers had prior knowledge that Marco Juarez was in the vehicle and that he had a felony warrant for a PROS violation with an original commitment offense of felony domestic violence. The Post Release Offender Program, created by Assembly Bill 109 – the 2011 Public Safety Realignment – that was effective October 1, 2011. This program mandates that individuals sentenced to non-violent, non-serious (irrespective of priors) or non-sex offenses will serve their sentences in county jails instead of state prison. The public should be aware that release under AB 109 is based on the offender’s most recent committing offense. Prior convictions are not considered.

Police seek suspects for allegedly assaulting man walking with family

Authorities sought the public’s help Thursday to identity five suspects who attacked a man while he was walking with his family in Glendale. The man was walking with two family members in the area of South Central Avenue and Americana Way, near the Americana At Brand, about 6:30 p.m. June 19 when they walked by the suspects “who were smoking and sitting at outside tables of a business,” according to the Glendale Police Department.

One Dead, One Injured in Agoura Hills Crash

A man was killed and another was injured in a crash in Agoura Hills, authorities said Friday. The collision occurred at approximately 7:24 p.m. Thursday on Agoura Road, a third of a mile west of Liberty Canyon Road, where deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station learned one motorist was traveling west and another east on Agoura when the first driver attempted to pass a vehicle by entering the opposing lane of traffic and collided head-on with the second driver, said Deputy Veronica Fantom of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Man arrested on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor

A man was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Monday on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor. The man, identified as Roberto Zuniga, 42, of Fillmore, was arrested on at least one felonious charge and held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to L.A. County Sheriff’s Department arrest logs.

Ruth Williams laid to rest at Mount Sinai

Community Celebration to take place Saturday, July 2nd, at 11am, @ Plummer Park. Ruth Forster Williams was laid to rest this morning, Friday, June 1st, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park. Family and Friends and many community members were in attendance to show their final respects. Williams passed after a series of strokes left her in a coma. She was 84 years old.

LA Metro plans could link Santa Monica and Whittier on single train line

Beginning in the next six months or so, Santa Monica transit users will be able to hop on the train at 4th Street and hop off the train all the way at Atlantic Avenue in East LA, once light rail lines are reconfigured with the new regional connector — but LA Metro has even more ambitious plans for this “one-seat ride,” eventually taking passengers from Santa Monica as far as Whittier without ever changing trains or waiting for a transfer.
