Last Night's Storms Bring Much Needed Rain to Brady Area

After going several weeks without a significant rainfall, the immediate Brady area received a very good soaking last night as isolated thunderstorms moved into the area from the southeast. Storms began moving into Brady about 7PM and continued until past midnight. At times, rain was falling quite heavily in different parts of town.

Flood Advisory Brady and Menard

Time Sensitive: A Flood Advisory has been issued for areas of McCulloch and Menard Counties (including the cities of Brady and Menard) until 930 PM Monday, June 27. Heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches in less than an hour is expected to cause street flooding, along with minor flooding along small streams in the area.

Brady Bulldogs Have Successful Day at 7 on 7 State Tournament

The State 7 on 7 Tournament began Thursday in College Station with the Brady Bulldogs finishing strong at the end of the day going 2-1 in pool play. Despite dropping a close game to Harmony 20-14, Brady fough back hard as they defeated Marlin in a close game 26-21 and then went on to down Poth 26-18 after trailing 0-12 early in the game.

Brady Community Involvement Committee to Draw for Raffle Prize

The Brady Community Involvement Committee in conjuction with Heritage Funeral Home will be holding thier drawing for a flat top grill plus 4 ribeye steaks at 5:15PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The drawing will be live streamed by Brady Today on Facebook. All proceeds will be used towards this year's fireworks display at Richards Park on July 2nd.

This Year's Smoke on the Hill BBQ Cookoff to be Bigger; Better

Once again, the Smoke on the Hill State Championship BBQ Cookoff will be rocking out Richards Park in Brady this coming weekend (June 17-18) with many activities. Along with the cookoff, there will be vendors, a corn hole tournament and live entertainment on Saturday night. The 18th annual event will benefit the Brady Volunteer Fire Department who will be selling barbeque plates all day on Saturday. There will also be a raffle for a $1,500 diamond necklace from Young's Jewelry.

Those of you that know me very well know that I LOVE my Reuben Sandwiches!!! Anytime we go to a restaurant that serves them, I am going to order one. I prefer Thousand Island dressing, but mustard is probably better for your health. We are fortunate to have two restaurants in Mason now that serve them, so I can get my “Reuben fix” more often.
