Comptroller’s office charges former Brighton Booster Club secretary with stealing from the club

The state comptroller’s office has charged a former Brighton Blitz Booster Club with stealing from fundraising events. On Dec. 12, 2020, the club contacted the comptroller’s office to report its secretary, Amy Spurlin, had stolen money from the discount card fundraiser and the March 13, 2020 Lift-A-Thon, for which donations were collected online.

Commission members took the action almost a year ago at the regular monthly meeting (July 2021) on a motion offered by Vice Chairman Brett Morgan and seconded by Leanna Dagen. The Margaritas restaurant in Millington is currently located at 6542 Highway 51 North. Its new building was constructed on a 1.26-acre lot in the southeast corner of the intersection of Copper Creek Drive and Creek Mill Road.
