LAUREL- Check out some of the top highlights from the District 4B and 6C track and field meet on Friday in Laurel. Huntley Project girls won the District 4B crown with 184 points. Columbus finished in second with 90 points, edging Red Lodge who finished with 89. The Columbus boys won the team title with 144 points, just enough to top Huntley Project's 138. Red Lodge boys were third with 123 points.

New gun shop to open in June

A former sales office on Laurel’s south side is getting new life with a retail gun shop opening there in June. On Target Outdoors will open in early June at 620 SE 4th St., the former site of Laurel Trading Post. The new business will offer rifles and pistols, ammunition, optics, gun-smithing services, and eventually training opportunities for gun buyers. Owner Scott Hoover, his son Cole, and son-in-law Kyle Koopman, will operate the retail store.

Red Lodge Rams came home triumphant in the ongoing competition in Division B on Monday, May 9, at Eaglerock Golf Course for the Eastern Divisional Golf Tournament in Billings. “The girls finished 5th with Allie Kuntz taking 8th, individually, and qualifying her for State,” said Coach Adam White. “The boys finished 2nd with Ross Sonday taking 2nd, Thomas Buchanan 6th, Walker Boos 9th, and Everest Carmain 10th.”
