Pedestrian killed on Lee Street in traffic accident

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A pedestrian was hit and killed Tuesday evening in a traffic accident on Lee Street, according to Alexandria police. APD responded around 9:15 p.m. to a report of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Lee Street and Thornton Court. The victim has been identified as Paul Washington, 65, of Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Alexandria police are investigating a shooting that took the life of a 65-year-old Alexandria man Tuesday night. According to APD, officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive man on Florence Avenue near the intersection with Rapides Avenue. Officers found Richard Bryant, 65, of Alexandria, with a gunshot wound to his neck.

APD arrests man for burglary, arson

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – Alexandria police arrested a man in connection with a burglary and fire at a bail bond office on Washington Street Saturday evening. At approximately 10:19 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at an office in the 800 block of Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers found the front door had been broken into and a homeless man, 47-year-old Charles Wayne White, Jr., was inside the business and armed with a handgun.
