Alliance High School put the finishing touches on the Athletic and Activities season at the annual A-Club Banquet Monday night. Activities Director Anita James, A-Club sponsor Baily Clear and Officers Shelbee Burke and Riley Lawrence hosted the event which honored Senior Athletes and and students who participated in the various sports and activities.
Many can sing along to Alice Cooper’s unforgettable song lyric, School’s Out for Summer, but this also marks an important time for our kids to make fun childhood memories while walking or biking to the pool, park, or to a friend’s house. The Box Butte County Bad Boys 11U baseball team kicked off their 2022 campaign in Douglas, Wyoming on April 30, and May 1. The Bad Boys opened pool play with an 8-3 victory over the Wheatland Cutters. Teagen O’Gorman took the mound throwing a complete game. O’Gorman gave up 1 hit while striking out 7. Carson Bunnell knocked in 2 runs with a double leading the team in runs batted in. Israel Garcia led the Bad Boy hitters going 2 for 2 on the day. Dixon Bair, Cormic Stark, Xander Narjes and Jace Jensen also found themselves in the hit column.
Over 120 Box Butte County 2nd grade students got a hands-on education about Nebraska agriculture. The Hemingford location at the Box Butte County Fairgrounds held on Monday, April 25 was the first of five Agsplosions to take place. In the weeks to come, the Agsplosion Festival will visit Dawes, Morrill, Cheyenne, and Scotts Bluff county youth.
