The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant 6/24/2022 at 5751 SW Charolais Ave, Arcadia, Florida 34266, after an active investigation revealed 9.11 pounds of Marijuana. During the investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of Linda Stoddard, Daniel Stoddard, and Patsy Matejka. All three were located and arrested during the execution of the search warrant. None of the subjects involved had current medical marijuana identification cards.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that occurred earlier. today, June 24th at the SouthState bank (4719 S, Florida Ave.) in Lakeland. At around 10:40 a.m., the man in these photos entered the bank and robbed one of the tellers. He told the teller he was armed. Once the suspect took the money, he fled the bank and was seen walking west through the Green Wise Publix parking lot and then crossing north into the Florida Technical College Parking lot. He then got into a dark colored sedan and drove away on Old Highway 37.

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that struck and killed a bicyclist early Friday morning in Lake County. The 35-year-old Lakeland man had been southbound at 4:45 a.m. in the bicycle lane of U.S. Hwy. 27 approaching U.S. Hwy. 192 near the southern end of Lake County when a vehicle veered into the bicycle lane and struck the cyclist, knocking him from his bicycle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
