Shawano gas price comparison: Cheapest gas in the area

(SHAWANO, WI) For bargain hunters there may be no better target than gas, with the cheapest station in the Shawano area offering savings of $0.06 per gallon. According to a survey by GasBuddy, People's Express at 716 S Main St was the cheapest station in the area, with regular listed at $2.88 per gallon at the pumps Wednesday. That was compared to Shell at N4543 Wi-22, where a gallon of regular was selling for $2.94.

Grant will expand veterans cemetery in King

A federal grant will help expand the cemetery at the King Veterans Home in Waupaca County. The state is getting three-point-three million dollars from the U-S Department of Veterans Affairs. The money will be used to build 430 pre-placed crypts, a flag assembly area, a service shelter, and to improve irrigation on the grounds. The Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery opened in 1888. More than eight-thousand vets and their dependents are buried there–dating back to the Civil War.

Two-year timeline begins for Antigo solar project

Preliminary engineering on a 54-acre solar farm in Antigo is anticipated to be conducted this month, with an option to lease agreement set to be finalized in July. City officials agreed earlier this month to lease 54 acres of city land north of a new housing site on West Hogan Street and near Highway 64 for a solar panel project.

A subject came to the Safety Building to report that the back door that leads to the basement at an address on 5th Avenue had been kicked in. No entry had been gained to the building. The reporting person also told officers that they had been having problems with their flowers being removed.
