Two charged in hit and run that ends at Newnan High School

A man who tried to help police capture a suspected hit-and-run driver also found himself in the back of a police car. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when police were called to the area of Cougar Way and Sewell road after a private property accident where the driver fled.

Update: Additional officers remain assigned to NHS campuses after threat

An investigation into a shooting threat at Newnan High School continues, but school officials said the day closed out Wednesday without incident. Additional officers will remain assigned to both campuses as law enforcement continues working to identify the person who wrote the threat on a bathroom wall, causing the school to operate under Code Yellow protocol for the duration of the school day.

Thank You For Your Service

A dear friend sent me a devotion written by Buddy Nelson with the above title. As I read this, I realized this man said exactly my thoughts. In so many words, he said that we sometimes say to a person in military service or in first responder service-thank you for your service. And then we go our way, not really knowing what “your service” really is. We don’t really take the time to know these people and their families, and as the devotion stated, their prayers are for peace and family.
