Six new COVID-19 cases across the Palouse

Five new COVID-19 cases were reported in Whitman County and one was reported in Latah County on Tuesday, according to local health agencies. The five in Whitman County pushed total cases to 4,404 since the pandemic started last year, Whitman County Public Health’s website said. COVID-19 deaths and hospitalizations since the pandemic started remained unchanged at 50 and 125, respectively.

Handful of COVID-19 cases, no deaths reported in region

A handful of new COVID-19 infections were reported in the region Monday but no new deaths from the pandemic. Public Health – Idaho North Central District had 14 new cases, including eight in Nez Perce County, three in Latah County, two in Idaho County and one in Lewis County. Clearwater County had no new cases.

Three new COVID-19 cases were reported Tuesday on the Palouse and all were in Whitman County. The three confirmed cases increased the county total since the pandemic started to 4,325, according to Whitman County Public Health’s website. Deaths from the virus remained unchanged at 49 while hospitalizations related to the virus since the pandemic started climbed by one since Monday to 115.

City of Moscow Ends Mask Mandate

MOSCOW - During a Monday night meeting, the Moscow City Council ended a 10-month mask mandate within the city. In December, the Moscow Mayor's Amended Public Health Emergency Order 20-03 was extended to June 9, 2021, with the ability to terminate the order at an earlier date pending county COVID-19 metrics. When the order was extended, Idaho was in a modified Stage 2 of the Idaho Rebounds plan; all of Idaho is now in Stage 4, with no restrictions on gathering sizes.
