Three people have been arrested on the 5000 block of Rio Vista Drive in Big River for drugs and weapons charges. On Monday at approximately 6 am, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station and Needles Police Department contacted Michael Rivera, 37 of Lake Havasu City, Rodolpho Talamante, 30 of Lake Havasu City and Denise Capaccione, 58 of Big River, during a call for service.

Lost Lake Fire winding down

PARKER — The Lost Lake Fire, a wildfire burning since last Thursday southwest of Parker along the Arizona-California border, was considered 50% contained Tuesday. The fire, chewing through Salt Cedar trees, grass and desert brush, is mapped at more than 5,850 acres in size, a little more than 9 square miles, and still is reportedly smoldering in some areas, with firefighters patrolling to extinguish hot spots.

Drunk boater hits, kills 7-year-old girl at Arizona-California border

PARKER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Investigators believe a boater was drunk when he hit and killed a 7-year-old girl on the Colorado River at the Arizona-California border on Sunday. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the victim was swimming in the water near Buckskin State Park in Parker, Arizona, when 37-year-old Arthur Garcia hit her. The girl was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.
