(KDKA) -  A local man accused in a bizarre crime spree will stand trial. Alex Kerestesy allegedly destroyed a hotel lobby, stole a cart full of items from a drug store and walked off with it wearing only his underwear. Kerestesy said he didn't mean any harm and has mental health issues. But police say he admitted to using drugs before the incidents."I just want to say this whole thing was just a misunderstanding. Four young PA men charged in robbery at Ocean City motel

Three men and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Ocean City last weekend after allegedly robbing and assaulting a man in a motel room downtown. Jelyja Joseph Malcom, 18, D’andre Xavier Sampson, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile, all of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Jaden Shawn Mallery, 18, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania were arrested by Ocean City Police on June 25 near 20th Street and charged with robbery, assault, theft, and reckless endangerment.

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. — Yellow caution tape blocked off every corner of one of Blairsville’s busiest intersections for over an hour after a tri-axle hit two people Thursday. “We really didn’t know until we got on scene that it was multiple pedestrians involved with a truck as it was making its way through the intersection,” Ab Dettorre of Blairsville Fire Department said.

Foundation sets up special meal for Westmoreland County woman and her family

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Twilight Wish Foundation does some pretty amazing things for our elderly population.  But one woman from Westmoreland County had a simple wish in mind, and it was just granted. Renee Kessler, who was paralyzed last year and lives at Westmoreland Manor, wanted to have dinner with her beloved family.   The Twilight Wish Foundation arranged a celebratory meal at Red Lobster on Route 30 in Greensburg, one of Kessler's favorite eateries. Besides going to doctor's appointments, she hadn't left her care facility for 14 months."To actually get out in the community with your family, you have no idea what that means. It's wonderful," Kessler said."She's the sweetest person, so very humble and she keeps saying, 'I don't know what I did to deserve this,'" said Phyllis Mrosco, a volunteer with the Twilight Wish Foundation. Kessler enjoyed a full afternoon with her two daughters and her two grandchildren."It means a lot to get out and do things," she said. "I'm glad I get to talk about it. Maybe others in the same position I am can benefit from it. "

Pennsylvania man busted with $90K in raw fentanyl injured officer during arrest, authorities say

A Pennsylvania man was busted with $90,000 worth of fentanyl in powder form after a months-long drug trafficking investigation concluded on Tuesday, authorities said. Cortez M. Haselrig, 25, was in possession of 50 grams of raw fentanyl when he was arrested at the Giant Eagle Parking Lot in Ligonier, the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. Ligonier is a town located about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh.

2 arrested after crystal meth, $7,000 found in SUV in Unity

Two people are facing drug charges after authorities said they found about $7,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine in a vehicle they were using, according to court papers. Westmoreland County sheriff’s deputies were attempting to serve a bench warrant on Collin Quakenbush 26, of Bradenville, before 8 a.m. Wednesday in Unity when they said they spotted him and Alisha N. McAteer, 28, of Latrobe jump out of an SUV and run away. The drugs and $7,000 were found in the vehicle, which was abandoned on Latrobe Crabtree Road, police said.

Driver suspected of DUI after truck tractor becomes lodged in Dauphin County home: police

The driver of a truck tractor that became embedded in a Derry Township home on Thursday evening is being investigated for driving under the influence, according to police. Emergency crews were called around 5:30 p.m. to the 1400-1500 block of East Derry Road, where the truck tractor portion of a tractor-trailer had driven into the front corner of a home, Derry Township police said.

Greensburg laundromat damaged by fire

A fire at a closed Greenburg laundromat late Thursday night damaged a dryer and spread smoke throughout the building. The fire at Nu-Way laundromat on Highland Avenue, which was reported at 11 p.m., caused an unknown amount of damage, said Tamara Zimmers, owner of the laundromat, which is adjacent to the Greensburg Shopping Center.
