Around noon on Thursday, June 30, Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins and a Grayson County animal control officer in relation to Greg K. Rigdon, 60, of Brownsville having multiple dogs on his property that were not fed or given water.

A Brownsville man faces a number of animal cruelty-related charges after officials located malnourished and deceased dogs on his property. On Thursday afternoon, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Grayson County officials, in relation to Greg Rigdon having multiple dogs on his property that were not being fed or watered.
George Cecil, 94, of Bardstown, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at Windsor Gardens. He was born April 21, 1928, in Bardstown to Francis and Mary Thompson Cecil, and was the eighth of nine children. He was a graduate of St. Joe Prep and married Anna Rose Hagan on April 26, 1948 at St. Thomas Church. He owned Cecil Electric Company for 50 years, working throughout Nelson, Washington, and Marion Counties, and maintained electrical maintenance at Heaven Hill Distilleries for many years. He was a magistrate for 12 years in Nelson County, and was a member of Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Bardstown Jaycees, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he helped with the bereavement team.
A Leitchfield man has been arrested after being accused of driving drunk on a moped and falling over in the middle of the street. Wednesday afternoon at approximately 5:45, the Leitchfield Police Department and EMS responded to the intersection of West Main Street and North Claggett Drive on the report of a moped accident. Upon arriving at the scene, a witness told police that the moped operator, 61-year-old Roger L. Burks, was traveling east on West Main Street when he “just fell over in the middle of the street.”
