County library district leases space for Ammon and west Idaho Falls branches

The Bonneville County Library District has finalized leases for two upcoming library branches in Ammon and west Idaho Falls. The library district announced the branch locations on its Facebook page on Thursday. The Ammon branch will be in a 7,000-square-foot space in the Teton Spectrum building on 3015 South 25th East. The space was formerly occupied by Lane Bryant and is adjacent to Bed Bath and Beyond and Deseret Book.

Grand jury indicts man on murder charges

IDAHO FALLS — A grand jury has indicted a man who is accused of shooting and killing another individual in March. The grand jury determined on June 17, that there was sufficient probable cause to charge Jake Eilander, 37, with second-degree murder for the death of 44-year-old Ulises Rangel.

Driver arrested for aggravated DUI after hitting pedestrian

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies and Idaho Falls Fire responded to the intersection of 1st St. and Nassau Dr. just before 8 p.m. Wednesday to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Deputies arrived finding a vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Leana Irma Rodriguez, had left the roadway and struck a 14 year old pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered a broken arm and other minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. In talking with Ms. Rodriguez, Deputies observed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety testing on scene.Ms. Rodriguez denied using alcohol before driving, however the results of breath testing on scene indicated a level just over 1.5 times the legal limit. Ms. Rodriguez was placed under arrest and transported to the Bonneville County Jail where she was booked for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, a Felony. Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash and no further information is available.
