PUBLIC MEETING Proposed Amendment to Water Quality Management Plan Proposed 4 mgd Central Dorchester Wastewater Treatment Plant The Berkeley Charleston Dorchester (BCD) Council of Governments (COG) has scheduled a Public Meeting to solicit public comment and input concerning the proposed 4 mgd Central Dorchester Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Dorchester County is seeking an amendment to the BCD Water Quality Management Plan for a new 4 mgd Central Dorchester WWTP. The proposed 4 mgd Central WWTP will require a new NPDES discharge permit. Dorchester County proposes to divide the permitted wasteload allocation between the Lower and Central Dorchester WWTPs. The Public Meeting will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Barrett S. Lawrimore Conference Room at the BCDCOG office at 5790 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406. The proposed amendment will be considered for approval by the BCDCOG following public review. Comments made at the Public Meeting or submitted in writing by August 3, 2022 will be in the public record for the Plan amendment proposal. Written comments should be submitted to the BCD Council of Governments, 5790 Casper Padgett Way, North Charleston, SC 29406. Individuals with questions concerning the proposed amendment may contact the BCDCOG at (843) 529-0400 between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM. 4 months after bond violation, hit-and-run suspect arrested again

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Almost 20 weeks after he violated his bond by getting arrested, a hit-and-run suspect is behind bars. Deon Gibson, 37, is charged with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with death. Gibson is accused of striking a motorcycle along I-26 in 2020. Lance Davis and Brittany Reeves died from their injuries.
