Child drowns at Perdido Pass, life flighted to Pensacola

A five-year-old male child was rescued from the Perdido Pass at approximately 5 p.m. June 14. The incident occurred approximately 300 yards from Lifeguard Tower 2 at Alabama Point East. The child was out of the water by the time lifeguards arrived. Orange Beach Fire Department also responded to the call.

Mother of teen crash victim in Baldwin County grateful for community support

Two Baldwin County teenagers were killed June 12, 2021 after a crash on County Road 64 in Rosinton. Alabama State Troopers said a 17-year-old boy and girl died at the scene. “Like, everything just seems so surreal right now, so it’s just trying to…I guess I’m still in shock and I’m trying to wrap my head around it and I don’t want to believe it’s happened,” said a tearful Christina Sexton.

Improvements starting on Twin Beech Road

FAIRHOPE – Twin Beech road will have a new turn lane at U.S. 98 by the start of the upcoming school year, city and state transportation officials said. Work was scheduled to begin the week of Monday, June 14, on the project to add the lane and improve the traffic signals at the intersection near Fairhope High School. Young boy airlifted to hospital after being pulled from the Gulf

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WEAR) — A young boy is airlifted to a hospital in Pensacola after being pulled from the Gulf of Mexico at Orange Beach. Brett Lesinger, the Chief of Safety Division at the Orange Beach Fire Department, told Channel 3 News they received a call around 4:52 p.m. of a "drowning at the Perdido Pass just 50 yards from the Perdido Pass bridge".

Country star Jon Pardi has canceled a trio of shows that would have brought him to Tuscaloosa and Orange Beach next weekend. As of Monday, it did not appear that Pardi had addressed the cancellations on his website or social media accounts. Daphne ambulance response times improving since Medstar makes changes

The numbers are in and the city of Daphne says it’s pleased to see a great improvement on ambulance response times there. Medstar based an ambulance there two months ago after the city raised concerns over long response times. Fox 10 News has been following the progress since February when the city first demanded improvement.

Fourth of July fireworks show returns to Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) -- Fourth of July fireworks will return to Gulf Shores a year after the show was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fireworks will be shot from the Gulf State Park Pier at 9 p.m. on the Fourth. The city said ongoing construction to repair Hurricane Sally damage will force them to use the center part of the pier instead of the end, so the best place to view the show will be from Gulf State Park and the eastern area of the Gulf Shores Public Beach.
