A 26-year-old Germantown man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a pursuit that ended in VA. On July 4, 2022, at approximately 9:20 a.m., 5th District patrol officers responded to the 11300 block of Hawks Ridge Terrace in Germantown, for the report of a male shooting a rifle at people. The suspect, Frederick Njihia, shot multiple times at a WSSC worker, striking his vehicle several times, as well as a male standing next to his truck.

Man charged in Montgomery County police chase that ended in Fairfax Co. crash

A Germantown, Maryland, man has been charged in a police chase that started in Germantown and ended with a crash in Fairfax, Virginia, that closed Route 7 in Tysons. Frederick K. Njihia, 26, will be charged in Montgomery County with four counts of attempted murder and first-degree assault with a firearm. The Virginia State Police are charging him with on one felony count of eluding police and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. He’s being held without bond in Virginia.

A man fired shots at a Montgomery County police officer in Germantown Monday morning, leading to a police pursuit that went into Virginia, police said. Police got a call just after 9:20 a.m. for a man with a gun who was firing shots in the 11300 block of Hawks Ridge Terrace, police said in a statement Monday. When officers got to the scene the man tried to get away, then fired at an officer, police said.
