The Kern River Valley in the mountains about an hour northeast of Bakersfield is rich with opportunities for recreation ranging from a simple picnic to whitewater rafting. Born Emily Ann Coe on July 26, 1928, Ms. Emily Diggles, a 30-year resident of Bodfish, California, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2022. She was raised in Logan, Utah, the only daughter of six children, and is survived by her twin younger brothers, Jim Coe of Lake Isabella and Jon Coe who resides in Healesville, VIC Australia with his wife, Susan Coe. She was a mother of four: Edward Martin Gorman (spouse Judy Gorman); Theresa Ann Gorman-Vellutini, deceased 2021; Toni Elaine Gorman-Goggs (spouse Dave Goggs); and Beverly Diane Gorman-Horvath (Lloyd Hollowell). She had eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She had many adventures and lived in several states. Once retired, she left Washington state and settled in the Kern River Valley in 1991 with her husband Don Diggles, deceased 2002.

Brian Nicolas Tucker was born on Oct. 9, 1983 in Bakersfield, California, and went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 26, 2022. Brian attended Kernville Elementary School and graduated from Kern Valley High in June 2001. He joined the Navy two weeks after 9/11. He trained and joined military police stationed in London, England. When he returned home, he began working in hydraulics with his dad in Bakersfield.
