BMW 340i xDrive Tuned To 500 HP Dares To Drag Race Nissan GT-R R35

Having been around since 2007, it’s safe to say the current-generation Nissan GT-R is getting a bit long in the tooth. After all, the R35 is basically the oldest supercar on sale today and generally one of the oldest vehicles overall. Despite its venerable age, Godzilla is still a force to be reckoned with as the performance it delivers is still sensational even by today’s standards.

BMW Was Fined Immediately After Building Its Headquarters In 1972, Here’s Why

Last month, BMW celebrated the 50th anniversary of its headquarters in Munich where it built the famous “Four-Cylinder” building back in 1972. There’s a lesser-known story about the early days of the BMW Tower as the company immediately incurred a fine of over DM 110,000, which was about $34,500 at that time and roughly $241,000 now adjusted for inflation. The local city planning authority was against the building’s architect Karl Schwanzer’s desire to display the company logo because the “impact would be too striking in nature,” according to BMW. However, the German luxury brand ignored the recommendation and put the oversized roundel anyway.

BMW S54-Powered Aston Martin DB5 From No Time To Die James Bond Movie Heads To Auction

The S54 engine was made famous by the E46 M3, but BMW also used it in the Z3 M Roadster and the M Coupe, along with the Z4 M Roadster and Coupe. Less known is the fact this inline-six mill powered the Wiesmann MF 3 Roadster, and even fewer will know it was used in an Aston Martin, too. Well, not an actual car manufactured in Gaydon as this DB5 is a replica built as a stunt car for No Time to Die, the 25th movie in the James Bond franchise.

2023 BMW iX1 Mineral White Filmed From All Angles At BMW Welt

With the i3 hatchback now discontinued, the iX1 is expected to become BMW’s most popular electric car since it’ll be its most affordable EV. Will it live up to the success of the quirky city car? It’s too early to tell, but it does have some big shoes to fill since the i3 EV and REx generated combined sales of more than 250,000 units. Before its market launch in October, the SUV with no combustion engine is showcased at BMW Welt.

BMW Hydrogen SUV To Enter Mass Production In 2025 With Help From Toyota

BMW has been experimenting with fuel cell technology for many years and was one of the first brands to introduce a production car back in 2005 with the E65-based 7 Series Hydrogen. Later this year, assembly of the iX5 SUV will kick off, but only a small batch will be produced. However, the German luxury marque is determined to make the tech more widely available by the middle of the decade.

BMW 1602 Refreshed With Full Restoration And EV Conversion

It won’t be tomorrow or the day after that, but there will come a time when fossil fuels will be outlawed, meaning it’ll be impossible to drive your combustion-engined car anymore. Unless synthetic fuels gain traction in the coming years, electrification is inevitable. While that saddens traditionalists, there is a ray of hope for people who aren’t willing to let go of their classic and vintage cars.

However, the current hot hatch can already look more aggressive provided it’s fitted with M Performance Parts. Such is the case here with this M Performance 1 Series dressed to impress in one of the most popular Individual paints – Java Green.

BMW Marks 50 Years Since First EV With Light Show At Headquarters

BMW’s electric journey kicked off at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich where two 1602 Elektro-Antrieb (Electric-Drive) sedans were on display looking virtually identical to their combustion-engined counterparts. However, gone was the ICE as the EV duo used a dozen of 12V lead-acid batteries that weighed 350 kg (771 lbs) to feed a Bosch-developed electric motor producing 32 kW peak and 12 kW continuous power.

BMW M4 Isle Of Man Green Shows Off Vossen Wheels On Video

It is a known fact luxury brands offer a rich variety of alloy wheel designs and sizes for their cars and the same holds true for BMW. It’s especially true in the case of higher-end models like fully fledged M models. Case in point, we’re counting at least seven options for the base M4 at home in Germany, and that’s before browsing the vast M Performance catalog.

BMW M5 Vs Audi R8 RWD Drag Race Pits Two Vastly Different Performance Cars

Performance cars take many shapes as enthusiasts can pick from a wide variety of body styles and drivetrain configurations. Take for example the BMW M5 and the Audi R8, a big and heavy luxury sedan and a mid-engined supercar. One has a twin-turbo V8 under the hood while the other uses a naturally aspirated V10 mounted behind the driver. In this case, the two-seater machine from Ingolstadt is a rear-wheel-drive version as opposed to the xDrive setup of the speedy saloon.

BMW M340i Touring in Melbourne Red is the perfect BMW

The BMW 3 Series Touring was, and still is, a misunderstood car in America. Yet, the 3 Series Touring will always have a special place in our hearts. I still recall our final test drive of the F31 BMW 330i Sports Wagon. The beautiful Smoke Topaz-painted wagon came decked out with an M Sport package and some M Performance Parts. It was proper send off for an underrated, underappreciated car.

BMW M6 Rendering Imagines E39 M5-Based Coupe That Never Was

Sold between the 1996 to 2003 model years, the fourth-generation 5 Series was available as a sedan and wagon. A coupe wasn’t offered since the original 8 Series was still around for the most part, with the E31 discontinued in 1999. The German luxury brand also had the M3 E46 Coupe roughly around the same time, but what if BMW had another sports coupe to bridge the gap between the two?

The SmokingTire says 230i Coupe is BMW’s Best Kept Secret

Matt Farah of The SmokingTire has recently reviewed the new BMW 230i Coupe. The new sports coupe is a darling of ours as well, so we’re not surprised that others are also mesmerized by its character. The BMW 230i is the entry-level 2 Series in the United States, packing a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It makes a healthy 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque which is plenty for the little 2 Series.

Doug DeMuro says the M5 CS is BMW’s Hellcat

Doug DeMuro reviews the BMW M5 CS and compares it to the popular Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The M5 CS scores extremely high in Doug’s own charts that he deems it his duty to call it one of the best four-door cars he’s ever driven. And rightfully so. Motor Trend has also recently praised the BMW M5 CS by placing it ahead of the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The BMW M5 CS is a car that proves its worth on either twisty roads or a race track. Its incredible handling dynamics prove it deserves its “CS” badge. Few BMWs in history have ever had the sort of steering precision, front end grip, corner exit grip, chassis balance, weight transfer, and incredibly power that the M5 CS has. On a twisty road, it’s simply incredible.
