Force: Bader's legacy unmatched

NORWALK — For decades, the combination of John Force and Bill Bader Sr. were a successful package deal. Whether it was Force riding down the dragstrip in a fake coffin, Bader renaming a section of the grandstands in Norwalk in Force's honor — or Force doing the same putting Bader's face on the hood of his car — the two combined to make a lot of fans happy over the years at the annual Night Under Fire event at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk.

Pet of the Week: Meet Ruby

Ruby is about 5 years old and is searching for her forever home. She would do best in a home with no cats. She seems to do well with other dogs. Ruby also would do best in a home with older children. She is a very independent girl. She will be spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, flea treated, dewormed, heart worm tested, rabies vaccinated and microchipped prior to going home. She will also go home with her 2022 dog license. If you think Ruby would be a good addition to your family, stop by the Humane Society Serving Crawford County at 3590 Ohio 98, Bucyrus, to visit and fill out an adoption application. Call 419-562-9149 with questions. Walkable Wonders: The Poignon Project and Healing Vines

We’re nearing the end of June, and summer is well and truly here (in case the recent heat wave didn’t convince you!). When I was growing up, one of my favorite summer pastimes was spending the afternoons crafting and drawing with my grandma, Betty Lucretia Stultz. My grandma is a very cool person – the only daughter of one of the Depression-era Junior Home Kids, she earned a full ride to art school when she graduated high school, and still draws and paints today. She always made the time to keep me engaged and art-ing around. The organizations I’m targeting today are some that I know she’ll enjoy as much as I do!
