Seriously Injured Teen Driver Airlifted After Head-On Crash Near Bergen/Passaic Border

A seriously injured 18-year-old West Milford motorist was airlifted to the hospital following a head-on crash Monday afternoon on Skyline Drive in Oakland. The southbound teenage driver's Toyota Corolla crossed the double-yellow line and slammed into a northbound Ford van driven by a 64-year-old Ringwood woman shortly before 1:30 p.m., Oakland Police Capt. Timothy Keenan said.

Popular Hudson Valley Park Cuts Swim Days Due to Staffing Issues

A fun swimming destination in the Hudson Valley has been forced to close down for part of each week due to a lack of lifeguards. Finding lifeguards to work at local swimming pools and beaches has become a difficult task. Municipalities have been desperately trying to recruit help, increasing pay and offering bonuses to anyone qualified to serve as a lifeguard. The City of Poughkeepsie recently lifeguard salaries from $16 to $22 an hour and is now offering up to $1,500 in bonuses.

Newburgh man arrested in Kingston on weapons charges

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 37-year-old Newburgh man following a traffic stop in the Kingston Plaza in the City of Kingston. Jermaine Williams, who was pulled over at around 8 a.m. on June 21, was found in possession of a metal knuckle knife, an illegal loaded semi-automatic handgun and a forged license plate on the vehicle.

NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A New York man gets probation for a theft charge, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch. Daniel Cicalese, 56, of Sparrowbush was sentenced on June 24 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Virtual Sussex County Courtroom in Newton, Koch said.
