Paper City Bar and Grill opens their doors in Holyoke

HOLYOKE – City residents now have a new option when choosing where to eat dinner in Holyoke. Andrew Garlo, who grew up in Westfield and currently lives in Sunderland, said he opened the Paper City Bar and Grill after about 15 years of experience in the culinary industry. He said he began his career as a waiter at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield. “I realized I really don’t like serving people, so I asked to get a job in the back. I started as a dishwasher and just kept on doing that,” he said.

NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) – This week, 20 Towns visits New Britain. While we were there, we stopped in at The Belvedere, a Polish eatery. The Belvedere is a hidden gem located on Broad Street. Ela Konferowicz, owner, opened the restaurant in 2011. “I think with the atmosphere that we have right now at the bar, at the restaurant, I think that people love it,” says Konferowicz. The restaurant now has an outdoor patio, with drapes and fire pits. She is also putting in a secret garden in the back of the building, so people can stay longer on colder nights.
