Jersey Shore, Pa. —As police officers with the Tiadaghton Valley Region Police Department spoke with a woman, she motioned with her eyes several times to show where a person was inside her home. Officers asked the woman to step outside of the residence located near the 300 block of Old Route 200 in Jersey Shore and entered the home. Penn State Alumna Charged with Vandalizing Nittany Lion Shrine During Commencement Weekend

Police on Friday charged a 23-year-old Penn State alumna with vandalizing the Nittany Lion Shrine on the University Park campus during commencement weekend in May. Julia Cipparulo, a 2021 Penn State graduate from Hillsborough, New Jersey, was charged with third-degree felony counts of institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property in connection with the damage to the limestone sculpture in the early morning hours of May 8, when she also allegedly spray painted messages on Old Main and the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

Man Accused of Hitting Woman at State College Store Faces Ethnic Intimidation Charge

A Westmoreland County man is facing charges including ethnic intimidation after allegedly striking a woman in the face earlier this month at a downtown State College store. Police were dispatched on the afternoon of June 4 to Target, 201 W. Beaver Ave., where a woman said she had been accosted by a man, later identified as 23-year-old William A. Ring, outside the restroom, according to a criminal complaint filed on Friday.

Woman accused of theft, harassment in Woodward Township

Woodward Township, Pa. —Police said a woman who had just stolen items from a store, struck a person as they attempted to give her a ride home. Desirea Jordan, 22, of Lock Haven was charged with retail theft and harassment on June 17 for the incident that occurred near the 20 block of Woodward Avenue in Dunnstown. Bellefonte Area School District approves tax hike

BELLEFONTE — Property owners in the Bellefonte Area School District will see a slight rise in their tax bill after the school board approved the 2022-23 budget on June 14. The tax millage rate will increase by 2 percent to 51.4603 mills, up from the 50.4518 mills it was at last school year.

Lock Haven man arrested for meth sales in Lycoming County while awaiting sentencing for drug deals in Clinton County.

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Matthew Slota, 33, is incarcerated in Lycoming County Prison after Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police arrested the Lock Haven man on Tuesday for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. TVRP officers allegedly arranged for Slota to deliver $300 worth of methamphetamine to a campground in Platt Township using cell phone messages obtained as part of another investigation.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, former Penn State basketball standout Izaiah Brockington has signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Exhibit 10 deal means that Brockington will have a spot on the Pelicans’ Summer League roster and an invite to the team’s training camp. He could earn a bonus that varies anywhere from $5,000-$50,000 provided that he gets assigned to the Pelicans’ G-League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.

Wood carvers on display at 40 & 8 Hooskow event

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The fourth annual wood carving event is up and carving at the 40 & 8 Club two miles north of Lock Haven along the Renovo Road.
