North Jersey Teen Dies in Barnegat Bay Boat Crash

A 19-year-old from Morris County died after a pontoon boat crashed into a marker in Barnegat Bay early Sunday morning, according to State Police. Five people were on board the craft around 1:30AM, including two passengers who were ejected into the water. Four sustained non-life threatening injuries while one suffered moderate injuries, according to State Police.

3 injured in 2-car collision on N.J. highway

Three people were injured in a two-car collision in Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County on Saturday afternoon. New Jersey State Police Perryville Station responded to an accident on State Highway 173 westbound at 3:21 p.m. Two vehicles, a Pontiac Sedan and GMC Acadia, collided on the highway, state police confirmed.

Sussex crash claims life of 18-year-old, police say

An 18-year-old died following a car crash in Sussex County early Sunday morning, state police said. Jonathan Fett, of Wantage, was driving west in a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Route 650 in Wantage around 1:31 a.m. when a GMC Sierra traveling north on Route 519 struck the driver side of the Jeep, a state police spokesman said.

Polk firefighters respond to smoke reports

Several Monroe County fire companies responded to a dwelling fire Sunday afternoon in Polk Township. The fire was reported just after 3 p.m. at 156 Valley Road West. Reports were the home had smoke conditions. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour. No injuries were reported in the incident. Also responding was the West End ambulance.

Wantage, NJ man faces manslaughter for Route 3 crash that killed child

A Sussex County man is facing criminal charges stemming from a crash in Clifton last summer, which killed a 1-year-old girl and badly injured the child’s mother. Chad Hines, 41, of Wantage, was indicted by a Passaic County Grand Jury on first-degree aggravated manslaughter, stemming from the August crash that sent 25-year-old Jamie Yarrish and her young daughter to the hospital.
