Attack ad blames Rep. Angie Craig for high gas prices as battle over swing district heats up

MINNEAPOLIS -- A conservative group has already spent $620,000 on an advertisement targeting Rep. Angie Craig in what's likely just the beginning of a battle by both parties to win a critical district.The 2nd Congressional District is just south of the Twin Cities and includes Le Sueur, Scott, Dakota, and part of Washington Counties. Wisconsin Elections Commission sends mailing to eligible but unregistered voters

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - During the week America celebrates its freedom and independence, Wisconsin election officials are encouraging people to register to vote. The week of July 4, the Wisconsin Elections Commission is mailing approximately 178,500 postcards to Wisconsin residents who appear to be eligible to vote but aren’t registered. The postcards, which will bear an image saying “Official Election Mail,” will tell people how to register online at and give them a toll-free number to ask questions. The postcard does not include a registration form, but it can be used as proof of residence for registering.

Wanderful Wives Visit Winona

Explore Minnesota hosted a couple who visited Minnesota for the Twin Cities Pride Festival. Sam and Justine are Instagram Influencers who also visited Winona as part of their Minnesota experience. Over the course of a few days they managed to pack in a lot of fun. They stopped at Island City Brewing for a brew, Beno’s Deli for a Turkey Supreme sandwich, breakfast at Blooming Grounds Coffee House , a “fancy” dinner at Signatures, a hike up to Sugar Loaf, tandem biking and stand up paddle boarding at Lake Winona and “canoedling” in the Mississippi River backwaters in a Sanborn canoe.

Coulee Region Humane Society asking people not to paint turtles

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) -The Coulee Region Humane Society in Onalaska is asking people not to paint or leave marks on turtles in the wild. CRHS says it has received several reports of painted turtles being found. Animal experts say people paint the turtles thinking it will help them be seen so they aren’t hit by cars, however, doing so is causing them more harm than good. They say the shell of a turtle is a living part of its body, which means covering it with paint can block vitamin-packed rays of light from reaching the shell.
