Tragic accident results in fatality

A local resident lost his life in a multiple vehicle crash last Wednesday on US Highway 385, approximately 6 miles north of Dimmitt. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, who is investigated the accident, James Baker, 75 of Dimmitt, died from serious injuries sustained in the crash after being transported to Hereford Regional Medical Center. One other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at Plains Memorial Hospital.
