Arlen Johnson

Nelson Arlen Johnson of rural Fairchild, WI passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022, en route to a clinic appointment at Mayo Health System in Osseo, at the age of 88. Arlen was born September 26, 1933 in Escanaba, MI. He was the first child of his parents, Elmer and Esther (Nelson) Johnson of Bark River, MI. Arlen grew up and developed his love for farming on the home farm. He enjoyed playing baseball during his high school years and also had a very good singing voice. He especially listened to the WLS Barn Dance or the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights and his siblings and parents enjoyed listening to his singing and yodeling while he helped his dad milk cows in the evening.

Donald "Don" J. Thill

TOMAH—Donald “Don” J. Thill, age 80, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was born October 12, 1941, to Francis and Letha (Railton) Thill in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Following high school, Don enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served on the crash rescue team for four years. He was united in marriage to Judy Chick in 1969. Together, they were blessed with two children, Sara and Jack.

Richard John (RJ) Humphrey, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday January 3rd in Mayo Hospital in La Crosse, WI after his battle with Cancer. He was born November 24th, 1956, in Sparta, WI to Vincent and Faith Humphrey, the youngest of 7. He graduated with honors in 1974 from Royal High School in Elroy, WI. He was college-educated and served his country in both the Army and Navy. He worked for the US Post Office in Minneapolis, MN for over 25 years as well as the VA in Tomah, WI prior to retirement.

Robert Alan Schendel, age 76, passed away peacefully on his farm in rural Wilton, Wisconsin, on January 7th, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, 11:00 AM at. St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 21693 County Hwy A, Tomah (Ridgeville). Pastor Robert Gerke will officiate. Burial will be in South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Wellington. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
