NAPIER FIELD, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been arrested for assaulting a police officer. Dale County Sheriff’s say a Napier Field officer responded to a domestic incident on the 100 block of Single Street and while investigating was hit multiple times by Bilal Kelly, according to police.

Fort Rucker to be renamed to honor Alabama man, Medal of Honor recipient Michael Novosel

Fort Rucker will be renamed after an Alabama man who earned the Medal of Honor and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, ABC News is reporting. Rucker, named for Col. Edmund Rucker, a brigade commander in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, will be renamed for Michael Novosel Sr. Novosel, who lived in Enterprise, was a military aviator for more than 40 years and received the highest military honor for his service in Vietnam. He died in 2006.

Man Charged With Burglary

On Monday, May 23, 2022, Dothan Police Officers responded to a burglary call in the 300 Block of East Lafayette Street. The occupants of the residence were not home but witnesses saw a man carrying a window air-conditioner out of the residence. Thanks to the observant witness, within minutes, officers located the suspect and the air-conditioner just a few blocks away.

Dothan man killed outside café in weekend shooting

A man is dead after being shot early Sunday morning outside a downtown Dothan café. Police say the incident took place in the 200 block of East Powell Street. The victim has been identified as Jacques Adarius McLeod-Roberts, age 21. According to a police report, McLeod-Roberts was outside the business when an unknown person walked up and shot him once. DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Police have identified the victim of the fatal Sunday crash on Highway 231. Benjamin Flores, 34, was killed after he lost control of his car, swerved off the road, and then hit a telephone pole, according to DPD.
