The Heat could try to improve their bargaining power in a potential Kevin Durant trade by negotiating with the Thunder to remove protections on the 2025 first-round pick owed to OKC, writes Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. If Oklahoma City agrees to accept the pick with no lottery protection, Miami will be free to offer Brooklyn first-rounders in 2023, 2027 and 2029. Teams aren’t permitted to trade draft picks that are more than seven years away, but the Heat could also include pick swaps in 2024, 2026 and 2028.

FORT LAUDERDALE - A woman was fatally struck by a bus Thursday morning in Fort Lauderdale. Police said the woman, described as being in her 50s, was walking along NW 1st Avenue and 1st Street, near the Broward bus terminal, when she was hit by a county transit bus. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said the woman died on the scene. Broward sheriff's traffic homicide investigators are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

MIAMI - One person required hospitalization Thursday morning following reports of a police-involved shooting in a neighborhood in NW Miami.Initial reports indicated a carjacking led to a police pursuit, which also involved gunfire exchange between 3 people taken into custody and Hialeah police officers.It is not clear if one of the suspects had been shot by police. This all ended in the area of NW 127 St and 15th Avenue. Images from Chopper 4 showed a man being loaded into an ambulance. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be investigating the shooting. No additional information was immediately available. 

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Clayton McFarlane died after he was shot on Tuesday in an area of Lauderhill that has been plagued by fatal shootings. According to the Lauderhill Police Department, witnesses told officers they heard arguing before a loud bang. McFarlane was shot shortly before 10 p.m., near the intersection of Northwest 52nd Avenue and 25th Street, police said.
