Many of the city’s 66 routes for the litter pick up are still available for individuals, families, churches, 4-H groups, or others to clean up. With gloves and trash bags available at the main branches of the First National Bank and TrustBank, filled trash bags can be left in the city dumpster in the Olney City Hall parking lot off of Whittle Avenue. It's time to take flight on a historic aircraft

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. (WTHI) - Something exciting is flying into town this week. It's one of the earliest aircrafts to take flight dating back to the 1920's. Down in Lawrenceville, the first-ever mass-produced airliner is here to bring history to life for people of all ages. This is all part of the Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) Ford Tri-Motor Tour.

Betty Green

On June 23, 2022, Betty Ellen Green, loving mother and grandmother, passed away in her home at the age of 96. Betty was born June 29. 1925 in Edwardsport, IN to George and Pauline (Morris) Jones. On November 8, 1942, Betty married Laddie Green, and they had six children. Betty was a homemaker, dedicated mother, and the coolest grandma ever. She was a voracious reader, prolific crossword puzzle enthusiast, and an amazing cook, however what she most enjoyed was her family, and to her everyone was family. Sunday dinners were a must, and when she was no longer able to cook, she would spend Sundays supervising her daughter and granddaughter while they cooked her recipes. Betty was known far and wide for her compassion, grace, quick wit, incredible sense of humor, and homemade noodles.

Cross Street Concert Series Continues

(Undated) – The Cross Street Station Concert Series continues this weekend. According to Robinson Park and Recreation Superintendent, Mike Shimer, Damon Mitchell will “take the stage” this Saturday. Other acts taking part in the free concert series include Chris Miller who will take the stage on July 9th and the Garth Brooks tribute “No Fences” which will wrap up the summer series on July 23rd.
